SHORT JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating people and processes to ensure that the project is delivered on time and produce the desired results. S/he will be the go-to person for everything involving a project’s management and timeline. Specific project manager’s responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation and delivering the project on time within budget and scope.
JOB DUTIES
General management:
- Coordinate and control the implementation of planned projects
- Ensure activities are relevant and meeting beneficiary needs
- Establish, maintain and improve active and regular working relationships with other NGOs, UN agencies, Governmental agencies, Municipality, local authorities, clusters, working groups, consortia, etc.
- Facilitate interdepartmental communication and information sharing for a positive working environment
Finance management:
- Control project budgets at area level to avoid under/over spending
- Ensure accurate budget forecasting
- Ensure that relevant project information is up-to-date and available for reporting purposes
Logistics & IT Management:
- Ensure timely procurement and adherence to internal guidelines and procedures
- Ensure quality supply, stock and asset management
- Ensure proper IT systems, data back-up and protection
Administration and HR Management:
- Ensure transparent and timely recruitment of staff according to internal organizational HR policies
- Proactively adapt the staffing structure to needs and funding
- Ensure regular goal-setting, performance evaluation and career management for staff
- Mentor and support the team to build capacities, improve efficiency & performance and ensure staff welfare
- Manage interpersonal conflicts among staff
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- University degree in Business Administration or other related studies
- One-two years working experience in similar position
- Project management experience (management, planning, implementation, staff development and training skills)
- Proven capabilities in leadership and management
- Ability to work well and punctually under pressure
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and flexibility in cultural and organizational terms
- Experience in proposal writing, analysis, and report writing
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Excellent command in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Previous working experience or volunteering in Non-Governmental Organizations will be considered as an additional asset
- Agape, solidarity and empathy to the beneficiaries that the organization is serving
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of any second language
- Base management skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to the fluid context that the organization is operating
